Trip to Africa and Bishop Doffee's Miracle
In 2001, Bishop Doffee went to Africa for two weeks and started the Church there.  He had bronchitis when he left and was taking antibiotics.  During the time he was there, at one time, his eyes became so bad that he could not see.  He said they felt like a covering of sand was on his eyes.  He got down beside his bed and prayed to God to heal him so he could do the work and the next morning his eyes were normal.  Another time he was very sick and again knelt beside his bed to pray and again he was healed the next morning.
While there, he climbed high mountains and preached two and three times a day.  When he got back he got pneumonia and had to go to the hospital.  He came home in three days and in the middle of the night could not lay down (Monday).  His lungs were filling with fluid.  The ambulance was called and again he went to the hospital.  He was having congestive heart failure.  They took the water off his lungs and sent him to Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga on Thursday.  On Friday, they did the arteriogram and he hemorrhaged in his groin by the next  morning.  The doctors came in and told him that he could go home and die within six months or he could take a 50/50 chance with heart surgery.  He told them to do surgery.  After they left, he went to the bathroom and had a heart attack.  He was brought back to life after a few moments.  He spent the next three days in medical ICU nearly dead.  His blood pressure was 39/33 and we were told that if it didn't come up they couldn't do surgery and we would have to take him off everything because his brain would be damaged.  It came down to the last six hours.  His nephew and his wife came down from South Carolina and they and I, two nurses, and his son and his wife (7 in all) were there when he was anointed with oil and prayed for.  The blood pressure came up to normal within about 5 seconds and stayed there (all saw it and said it was a miracle).  He was operated on that night.  They said he could have heart failure on the table, his kidneys could fail and he would die, or he would come out in an iron lung for 4/5 days.  None of these things happened.  God was with him.  I don't think they expected him to live at all.  They said his heart would never get better in its ability to function stronger -- but it has.  God is still with  him and he is preaching regularly.  There were many wondrous things that happened during that time, but Bishop Doffee's miracle was the blood pressure coming up so they could operate on him and coming through it with none of the things they thought would happen - happening.
PRAISE THE LORD!  TO HIM BE THE GLORY!
