There is a question in the minds of some concerning this star - the star of the Lord, or sometimes called the Star of David - and its meaning. Romans 1:19-20: For the invisible things of him, are clearly seen to reveal God and his glory that there would not be an excuse of not knowing the truth of God's word. I will now explain why we wear the Star of the Lord. The scripture tells us that God made the heavens and the stars and called them by name (Psa. 147:4). These stars are the testimonies of the handiwork of God as well as show the dividing of day (righteous) and of the night (sinners) with various other revelations (Genesis 1:14-15). The first two special stars that God created were to be the two witnesses of God that were to sit on either side of the throne of God. This was revealed in the setting up of the tabernacle in the wilderness (Exo. 37:7-9). These two stars were called the morning stars (Job 38:7) and they sang together of the glorious things of God and worshiped him in heaven. One day there was iniquity found in one of the stars (the witness, Lucifer, son of the morning) on the left of God. He said in his heart that "I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God . . . I will be like the most High." (Isaiah 14:12-15) He was then cast out of heaven into the earth where he roams seeking to devour the people of God (Eze. 28:14-17; Luke 10:18; I Peter 5:8; Rev. 12:12). The rulers, or stars, of light and darkness have manifested themselves in the earth and we now know them through the spirit of God. King David spoke of the excellency of the name of God who has created all things (Psa. 8:1-9). Therefore, with this creative power we can see how God created Lucifer to be the ruler of darkness (the morning star) and Jesus Christ to be the ruler of light (the bright and morning star (Eze. 28:13). Since the morning star has fallen from heaven, Jesus is the only one that now sits with God in his throne, with the other seat reserved for the end. (Rev. 22:16; 2:26). As to this left hand witness (star), Jesus said that he has the authority to give this position to another person and that man is the one that gives meat in due season and is righteous before him (Rev. 2:18; Psa. 145:15; Matt. 24:45; and Luke 18:8). The birth of Jesus Christ in the earth was foretold in many scriptures with many different analogies, but it is his star (Num. 24:17) that appeared in the heavens to proclaim his birth (Matt. 2:1-10). As we read these scriptures, we find that the wise men from the east (probably of Babylonish descent) followed the star until it stood over the baby Jesus where he lay. This star illuminated the way for the wise men to follow to Jesus, much the same way it guides us to him today. What does the star of our Lord Jesus Christ appear to be? The star of our Lord is not so different that it cannot be recognized, yet many have rejected its symbol because of ignorance of the word of God. Our Lord's star has six points, not five (the star of Molech). It has two identical shapes interwoven to become one object - therefore bearing witness one of the other. This star of the Lord (also called the Star of David) has three points that point to the earth from heaven, and three points that point to heaven from the earth. The ones that point down to the earth from heaven are representative of The Father (God), The Word (Jesus), and The Holy Ghost (the spirit of God) as they are one. The other three points that point up from the earth to heaven are representative of the spirit, water, and the blood, and these three agree in one (I John 5:7-9). I thank God that through this star we also have a more sure word of prophecy that Jesus Christ has come to earth to redeem us to him, having fulfilled the things that were spoken of him to accomplish and has returned to heaven where he now sits on the right hand of God the Father. Through his star, we have the ability to witness to a sinful world that he has come to earth, suffered, died, and then arose, and now has gone back unto our Father. Through all of this, the people of God rejoice because he (as the day star) is risen in our hearts (2 Peter 1:19). This is why we wear the star of the Lord - a witness for Jesus in a sinful world - and to show the truth of his word to those that are saved according to the shed blood he gave willingly on Calvary. --- Teacher
