 SHALL WE ESCAPE THE
 JUDGMENT OF GOD?

Hebrews 10:23-30  Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)  And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:  Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.  He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:  Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace  For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.   It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

I do not use these scriptures lightly, nor do I use them to judge anyone.  However, there are certain doctrines in the world today that need to come to light.  One is that we can do anything we want to do even if it be evil and even thought we know it is evil and go into it with eyes wide open, that all we have to do is make it to church and ask God to forgive us and He will and everything will be alright and we will still go to heaven.   This belief is in error.  As the scripture reads above, if we sin wilfully (knowing it is sin and do it anyway) then there is no more sacrifice for sin.  I know that this is talking about the Jewish sacrificial law and going back to it, but it also applies in this day.  For when we receive the Lord Jesus Christ into our hearts and accept Him, we also accept the responsibility of living the way He lived, giving our all to him.  If we accept Jesus just to say we are going to Heaven and not to Hell, we are missing the greatest point of all.  We should have accepted Jesus as our Saviour because we love Him and want to do his bidding. That is what he expects of us.  To give our all to him (and not wilfully sin) is our reasonable service.  That's just reasonable service.  Imagine if he expected more – what more can we give him but everything?  He expects us to follow his guidelines, love our neighbor as  yourself, go to church, worship him, not do the things the world does, not sin a little bit every day (they say everyone has to).  If we get ensnared in a sin, then he is just to forgive us, but if we sin wilfully and keep doing so we are in trouble.  The Word says that for a while God winked at ignorance, but the time is coming when He will no longer stand for that excuse.  I don't know about you, but I don't want to take the chance.  The Word says in Revelation that if you are lukewarm, God will spew you out of his mouth.  The devil knows this and is waiting only for the Judgment because he knows he will get more Christians that way.  Listen – GOD says He will spew you out of His mouth if you are lukewarm.  Where does that leave you, my friend?  Are you hot, cold, or lukewarm?

In John 15:6, it says, "If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned."  What do you suppose this means?  It means we have to live (abide), dwell, in this words.  We have to live them every day – we have to walk it, talk it, and live it.  We cannot do anything we want and expect God to just overlook it because we supposedly have the blood of Jesus applied.  The blood covered those sins that were committed before we were saved and they will be remembered no more.  But the sins we commit wilfully and knowingly, we will be judged according to those works.  Don't let anyone deceive you!  We must live the way Jesus commanded.  We can't do wrong and get by – somewhere down the line God is going to say "That's enough!"  Because when we do those things we are crucifying the Son daily, we are tramping on his blood and counting it unholy, and have done sin despite the spirit of grace.  Do we sin more because grace does abound?  NO! NO! A thousand times NO!  It is indeed a fearful thing to fall into the hands of a living God.

Read the following scriptures and tell me that God is pleased with the doctrine that we can sin, get forgiveness, sin the same thing, get forgiveness, and keep on doing the same thing wilfully and saying, "Well, I can do this, because all I have to do is go to Jesus and He will forgive me."
John 3:19-21:   And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
If we are doing things that are not pleasing to God, we are hating God.  We cannot love God and the devil, too.  We cannot do the works of God and go behind His back and do the works of the devil.  The Word says we must hate the one and love the other, or vice versa.  We cannot have it both ways.  We were taught from childhood, "You can't have your cake and eat it, too!"  It is the same way with God.  All through the Bible, the choice is thrown out to the people — Choose you this day whom you will serve.  The way is set – it is a narrow way and few there be who find it.  But broad is the way that leadeth to destruction.  Which way will you choose, my friend?  While you may have eternal life, you will be judged by your works and what the books (the Bible) teaches.

Be wary, for the devil is in the land as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.  Don't let it be you!  May God bless you is my prayer.
